While Karli's education includes many years of self-directed study, Karli's formal piano studies include work with Dr. Alexandre Dossin of the University of Oregon, Dr. Mark Fouxman in Salt Lake City, Utah, and Dr. Alexander Tutunov and Kristina Foltz of Southern Oregon University, where she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Piano.  Karli's vocal studies include work with Ellie Holt-Murray of Southern Oregon University, Dr. Karen Esquivel of the University of Oregon, diction coachings with Marcie Stapp of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and Bel Canto techniques with Madeline Abel-Kerns from New York City

In July of 2013 Karli traveled to Costa Rica for participation in Opera Nova, directed and run by University of Oregon's opera program head Dr. Karen Esquivel, where she was cast as the Witch in Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel.  In July of 2012 Karli received full sponsorship to study and perform as pianist and singer for 3 weeks in Völs am Schlern, Italy, at the Schlern International Music Festival. Her Festival experience included bi-weekly lessons from renowned artists/teachers in both disciplines, and performances both as solo pianist and singer in South Tyrol.

Local performances include work with the Rogue Opera, Brava! Opera Theater, as featured soloist with the Siskiyou Singers, and as regular member and featured soloist with the Southern Oregon Repertory Singers.  Karli is currently the main soloist, alternating pianist, and music chair at the Christian Science Church in Ashland. 

Many cities and towns within the Rogue Valley are represented by students traveling to Karli's private studio in Ashland, where she teaches piano and voice. Karli is also a Music Instructor at Logos Public Charter School in Medford, where she teaches Voice, Piano, and Music Composition. Extended teaching experience includes faculty work at Southern Oregon University as Music Theory and Music Fundamentals Instructor, as well as at the International Piano Institute hosted by Southern Oregon University.

Karli currently resides in Ashland with her husband, Walker Kermode, woodturner, bassoonist, and teacher.
